ScaleZ Support

ScaleZ turns your typing into music on macOS.

Getting Started

1. Open ScaleZ.

2. Choose a Vibe or Genre.

3. Turn Sound On.

4. If you want ScaleZ to respond while typing in other apps, enable Global Typing through the Flow tab.

5. Start typing.

Global Typing / Input Monitoring

•ScaleZ needs macOS Input Monitoring permission to hear typing outside the ScaleZ window.

If ScaleZ only makes sound when its own window is focused:

1. Open ScaleZ.

2. Go to the Flow tab.

3. Click Fix Global Typing.

4. In macOS System Settings, enable ScaleZ under Privacy & Security > Input Monitoring.

5. Return to ScaleZ and try typing in another app.

ScaleZ uses Input Monitoring locally to generate music. It does not type for you, paste for you, upload your typed text, or control other apps.

No Sound

Try these steps:

1. Confirm Sound is On inside ScaleZ.

2. Confirm your Mac output device works in another app.

3. Toggle Sound Off and On in ScaleZ.

4. Quit and relaunch ScaleZ.

5. If the issue continues, include your macOS version, ScaleZ version, and what audio device you are using when contacting support.

Recording And Export

ScaleZ can record generated musical events and export a MIDI file.

Basic flow:

1. Turn Record On.

2. Type.

3. Turn Record Off.

4. Click Export.

The exported file is a MIDI performance, not a text document.
